The Canadian silver dollar is a coin first issued in 1935 to mark the silver jubilee of King George V. Composed of 80% silver and 20% copper, its obverse traditionally features the reigning monarch’s portrait, while the reverse often depicts iconic Canadian symbols, such as the voyageur and canoe design. Silver dollars were minted primarily for circulation, but many also became collector’s items due to their historical significance and silver content.

Canada during the reign of King George V (1910–1936) was a self-governing dominion within the British Empire. The period was marked by significant political, social, and economic developments, including the expansion of Canadian autonomy in foreign affairs and the growth of national industry. Canada played a major role in World War I, contributing troops and resources to the Allied effort, which strengthened its international presence. Domestically, the country experienced urbanization, immigration, and social reforms, while tensions arose over language and regional differences. King George V’s reign saw the Statute of Westminster in 1931, which recognized Canada’s legislative independence, cementing its status as a sovereign nation within the Commonwealth.

This coin was graded MS 63 (mint state 63), using the Sheldon grading scale from 1 to 70.  It was graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).  Here is more information on PCGS's grading scale.
